What is Spine Angle?

This dashed line is called Spine Angle

Golfers should maintain same spine angle from start of swing through impact

Lifting or dipping your head during golf swing changes your spine angle

What is Swing Plane?

The "V" lines are called swing plane

Golfers should keep their hands and the golf club inside the "V" lines, from start of swing through impact

Golf club head outside top "V" line before impact will cause the ball to fade or slice

Golf club head outside the bottom "V" line before impact will cause the ball to draw or hook

Why compare my swing with a pro?

  • To see where your swing stands next to the pro
  • Look at your faults and see what a pro is doing right.
  • Pay close attention to all body positions of the pro vs. your own

Why compare to your own swing?

  • To see if the changes you are making are actually working.
  • Most people want to improve so taking new videos every few weeks is beneficial.
  • A picture is worth a thousand words.

What is Swing Score?

eVision creates swing score for each swing based on your ability to keep your head, hips, and hands in desired positions. Swing score is just a number that provides quick feedback to you if you're making progress.

Max. swing score is 100. If you get 100, you've done very well. This does not mean you'll hit the ball perfect, all it means is that you're in good positions. If you're club head is outside the in SV, for example, eVision will not deduct any points. Also, if you flip the club at impact, this will not get automatically picked up by eVision.

To improve, do try to get 100 in both views, Face View and Side View.

What is a Key Position?

There are 11 Key Positions for each swing. You can view drills from Rick Smith on how to get in a good position in each of the key position.

Why analyze in Face view or Side view?

  • Each view tells you specific information about your swing
  • Analysis will show your faults and positives from your swing
  • Each view helps to give you certain drills to work on
  • Each view (FV) and (SV) breaks down your swing to help improve your game.
